Artistic Vision

Art Education. Straight Up.

Hopeful

Last Thursday and (less so) Friday, I can honestly say I really enjoyed teaching my art classes. I normally struggle with the fact that my classes seem more filled with frustration than satisfaction. That’s primarily from the fact I deal with discipline issues so much. Yet, now that the students are starting to understand that I mean it when I give them deadlines and not following those deadlines affects their grade they are asking to come in during off-class times to work. Yes, it uses up my lunch, duty and prep periods, but the kids are focused during those periods and get stuff done.

I’m hopeful to have at least one day like that. Not too much to ask, eh?
